Description
Steel Palisade Fencing consists of sturdy vertical steel pales affixed to horizontal rails, creating panels that are mounted on steel IPE support posts (“H” steel). This type of perimeter fencing is favored in situations where heightened security and resistance to vandalism are required. The high-strength materials and absence of footholds make it challenging to cut through or climb over. As a top choice for security, Hesly’s high-security palisade fence provides exceptional protection against intruders and vandals, serving as both a physical barrier and a visible deterrent to unauthorized access and vandalism.
W” Section Pales and “D” Section Pales are two primary types of palisade fence pales. The “W” Section Pale is currently the more popular option, named for its resemblance to the letter “W” in contrast to the traditionally rounded “D” Section Pale. The reinforced shape of the “W” pale allows for the same level of strength with a lower gauge steel, making it a more cost-effective solution compared to the “D” pale. However, “D” pale palisade fencing remains popular in certain environments, often being specified for government projects, such as around prisons and schools. When repairing or extending an existing palisade fence, it is crucial to use the same type of pales to maintain consistency and appearance. The continued popularity of “D” pales in traditional palisade fencing projects attests to their enduring appeal and functionality.
Different Style of Palisade Fence Heads
Various styles of palisade fence heads are available to suit specific security needs. The triple point splayed head is the most common option, as it provides an intimidating appearance and effectively deters intruders. Designed for use in perimeter security fencing, the splayed sharp steel head poses a significant challenge and danger for anyone attempting to climb over it. Alternatively, rounded and round & notched pale heads are available upon request. While these styles also feature sharp steel heads for a formidable barrier, they offer less coverage along the fence line due to their non-splayed design. Each style caters to different security requirements while maintaining a professional and robust appearance.
Straight Top and Curved Top Options
Palisade security fencing offers both straight and curved top designs to enhance security measures. The curved top option in BMP Palisade provides an additional layer of protection by making intrusion attempts significantly more challenging. Absence of projections or closely spaced horizontal rails eliminates potential climbing aids and further deters intruders. The open ‘W profile’ of Palisade pales is designed to resist bending in any direction, which discourages attempts to cut, dismantle, or forcefully deform the fencing structure.
Palisade Fence Posts and Coating Options Palisade fence posts are constructed from exceptionally strong H profile steel, while rails are made from heavy-duty angle steel punched with holes for spear attachment.
Various coating techniques and colors are available for our Palisade Fencing to ensure it seamlessly integrates with your design. Coated palisade fencing enables customization of fence color to match the surrounding environment, making it ideal for creating an inconspicuous yet highly secure barrier.

Palisade Fencing Applications
Security and safety are top priorities for residential, commercial, and industrial properties. With the increasing demand for effective perimeter protection, fencing solutions like palisade fencing have gained popularity. This article explores the various applications of palisade fencing and how it compares to other options such as 8-foot chain link fence and clear view fence in different settings.
- Residential Security: Palisade fencing provides an aesthetically pleasing yet secure perimeter for residential properties. Its robust construction deters potential intruders, ensuring peace of mind for homeowners. While 8-foot chain link fences offer a similar level of security, they may not be as visually appealing as palisade fences. Clear view fences, on the other hand, are an excellent option for those who prioritize unobstructed views without compromising on security.
- Commercial and Industrial Sites: Businesses and industrial facilities often use palisade fencing to secure their premises. The fencing’s strength and durability make it an ideal choice for protecting valuable assets and equipment. In comparison, 8-foot chain link fences may be more suitable for areas with lower security risks, while clear view fences can be used when visibility is crucial for surveillance purposes.
- Educational Institutions: Palisade fencing can be employed around schools and colleges to provide a safe environment for students and staff. Its intimidating appearance deters intruders and vandals, while its design prevents unauthorized access. Although 8-foot chain link fences and clear view fences can also be used in these settings, palisade fencing offers a more robust security solution.
